The Armstrong High School Alumni Association is a proud organization built upon the shoulders of our ancestors. Our legacy began in 1935 as a significant turning point for the education of African American children in rural Cumberland County.

Armstrong High School Fast Facts

1935

Year Established

as Cumberland County Training School

1939

Renamed after first principal,

E.A. Armstrong

1966

27th Annual Commencement;

117 students graduated, the largest class in school history

1969

Armstrong High School graduates it's last class of high school students. Armstrong High School became Armstrong Junior High in 1970.

1982

Armstong Junior High becomes Armstrong Elementary School
